“Thank you for your sessions, we have really enjoyed it and the impact on their PSED and confidence in communicating through music and songs has grown.”

Jude discovered her passion for Early Childhood Music after having her two daughters and in 2020 she completed her Certificate for Music Educators in Early Childhood (CME:EC). Jude’s practice is inspired by the pedagogical approaches of Kodaly, Dalcroze and Reggio Emilia with an emphasis on exploration and Musical free play. Jude is passionate about working with adults who work with children in order to support them on their journey to discovering their Musical self. By creating a nurturing and supportive environment she aims to help adults to become more confident in engaging in Musical activities with children. She has worked in several Early Years settings and particularly enjoys working with Early Years practitioners and encouraging them to tune into and explore the Music that the children are already making every day. Her approach is playful and child centred, picking up on children’s own interests and following their chosen paths of enquiry.
As well as within settings, Jude has also delivered CPD sessions to Early Years practitioners and Music practitioners and worked in partnership with a colleague from the Plymouth Early Years Advisory team to deliver ‘Music for Under Twos’ and ‘Singing with Babies’ training, and led a workshop at the Early Years South West Stronger Practice Hub’s ‘Brilliant Babies’ conference.
Sessions include a variety carefully chosen songs and Musical activities. Repertoire is chosen to be age appropriate and to support children’s Musical development alongside their physical, linguistic, and emotional and social development. Musical free play is encouraged by means of a provocation which is enticing and incorporates a range of Musical and non-Musical items for children to explore.

“Thank you so much for giving the children such a wonderful experience - they looked forward to every session!”
